A state-of-the-art Paediatric Intensive Care Unit has been set up at Surya Sahyadri Hospital in Pune, thanks to the contribution of Interpump Group, Italy and its subsidiaries present in India: Inoxpa, Interpump Hydraulics and Walvoil.
The 10-bed ICU unit including cardiac care was inaugurated on 8th April 2022, after only a few months of the MoU signed at the end of 2021, in Surya Sahyadri Hospital Pune. It will benefit underprivileged children.

As Mr. Girish Garud, Country Coordinator of Interpump Group companies in India, said, ‘the pandemic has brought focus back on healthcare. We have seen the determination and courage with which the medical professionals worked round-the-clock to ensure patients go home healthy and we selected the Project keeping in mind this focus on Healthcare, and especially the anticipated wave for Paediatric Covid patients.’

The ICU ward donated by Interpump Group and its Indian subsidiaries has the primary objective of serving the economically weaker sections of society. It has been technically designed with dual mode, meaning that the primary objective is to treat Paediatric patients but if the need arises, even an adult patient can be treated in the same facility.

The equipment includes eight ventilators, USG machines, ECG machines, Dual Chamber Pacemaker, Ultrasonic nebulizer and others.
Among the authorities and guests attending the inauguration were: Mr. Shri Murlidhar Mohol - former Mayor of Pune, Dr. Jaisingh Shindle – Medical Director Surya Sahyadri Hospital, Trustee Prakash Tulpule, Dr. Ketan Apte – Vice President Sahyadri Hospital, company officials of Interpump Group including Mr. Girish Garud – Country Coordinator Interpump Group companies in India, Mr. Aniket Kunjir – CFO Inoxpa India.

Surya Sahyadri Hospital has been one of the first hospitals in the Country to be dedicated to the underprivileged. Shri Murlidhar Mohol lauded the CSR initiative of Interpump Group for the patients in need and Dr. Ketan Apte expressed his gratitude to all the companies involved in this noble cause.

The donation to the Surya hospital is just one of several interventions of CSR for children and needy people, which Inoxpa, Interpump Hydraulics and Walvoil are carrying out in India, on behalf of the Interpump group.
